Our most valuable and most artistic materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only – Mark Twain

Ironically, being the country with among the world’s best artists, choosing arts as a career is still a ‘nightmare’, especially for the middle class. We belong to a nation which majorly abides by the mindset of performing arts not being a profession at all.

It isn’t easy. Very rarely there are shortcuts when you head the unconventional route. Unless you are rich. Then things get easy.

Vineeth Vincent, a typical middle-class Tamilian boy, has, however, a different version of it. “My Tamilian family did not make my job too easy but at the same time, they did not make my job too difficult. This was when I started and it still stands for every new and wacky idea I have,: says Vineeth.

A beatboxer, musician, emcee and performing artist, Vineeth is known for his work with The Boxettes in 2010 and Austrian beatboxing group Bauchklang in 2009. He was also selected as part of the final eight and performed with Voctronica, in the search for beatboxing talent by the British Council Library (BCL).

People often refer to themselves as a DJ, Beatboxer, Guitarist, Singer etc. What they fail to differentiate is the difference between being able to do something and being able to do something for a living. Using it as a means to make ends meet and pay the bills at the end of the month. And then taking that base level success and digging deeper into the art to make it one’s own. This is the transition from hobby to passion.

Vincent, who aspires to share the stage with ‘coldplay’ singing ‘yellow’, finds himself as a decent entertainer and believes it is that what sells. Not all types of markets are willing to pay for something like this. One needs to be very specific when targeting a market for something as niche as beatboxing. How you package it, brand it and market it matters in a big way.

We’re looking forward to hearing him talk about his passion, dedication, and journey at JOSH TALKS 2016: LEAP on the 22nd and 23rd of October at Thyagaraj Stadium, New Delhi.
