The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) recently organised the National Women Entrepreneurship Summit 2016, ‘Womennovator.’ The programme was held on October 16, 2016 in Delhi.

The summit brought together women entrepreneurs from eight states engaged in different streams onto a common platform. The programme aimed to showcase startups with unique ideas and sustainable strategies.

It also marked the presence of Honourable Minister of State, Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary – Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise and Santosh Yadav, MLA and Deputy Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

Alongside, dignitaries from various forays of life were also present such as Jayshree Arora – Indian film, stage, and television actress, Dr. Blossom Kochar, Founder – The Blossom Kochhar Group of Companies, Shovana Narayan, Kathak Maestro, Anurag Batra, Chairman BW Businessworld Group and exchange4media group, Jai Madaan, international astrologer and vaastu expert, and Mrinalini Shrivastava ,IPS.

“Through this programme, we address issues of what it really takes to get the best out of us, and how can women entrepreneurs optimise on marketing and business development strategies,” said Tripti Shinghal Somani, Chairperson, COWE, Delhi.

The summit included a panel discussion on Government Schemes and benefits for women entrepreneurs; marketing strategy and business development and an award ceremony for COWE excellence in 2016.  The highlight of the programme was an event called ‘Walk Your Product & Services’ where many women entrepreneurs showcased their ideas.

The top three winners of the event were:

  • Ritu, CCO/Chief Connect Officer – JAMMs network – a no-nonsense and complete ‘Momsense’ support group for social networking amongst Mumbai/New Mumbai based mothers.
  • Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj , Hair and Skin Specialist.
  • Kanika Gupta, Chocowah Indulgence.

Also, commendable success stories was shared by Namita Banka, Banka BioLoo Pvt. Ltd (develops and provides products and services for human waste management system) and Yash Raj Bharadwaj, Co-Founder at Zenith Vipers (an organisation which encourage willing students to come up with ideas and serve for the betterment of the society).
